From our managed hosting provider, Peer 1:
We are excited to inform you that we have rescheduled the Atlanta Data Center
Network upgrade. The maintenance window for the following servers/services will
be on July 29, 2011 between the hours of 12am-6am EDT.
This major network upgrade is being done to, not only resolve the spanning-tree
loop issues we have faced earlier this year, but also to upgrade performance and
capacity in the Atlanta Datacenter. Please note that if you have other servers or
services that depend on those listed above they too will be impacted by this
change. Phase one will be routing the switches your servers are connected to into
our new Brocade One multi-path, spanning-tree free network. The process should take
may take up to 30 minutes per switch during which time your servers will be
unreachable. We apologize for the inconvenience that this may cause you and your
customers, however, in the long run this will allow PEER 1 to better support our
customers with:
- IP6 capable network
- 10 GB uplinks
- NPLS
- Multi-layer cloud like redundancy
We will be working to minimize the interruption to your services and thank you in
advance for your patience. Please note that this is an ongoing project and you may
receive additional communications as we work our way through the datacenter.
