Many of you have wanted the ability to have your customers pay on their account once it has been flagged as inactive. In the past, Quick Pay was the only mechanism that allowed such payments. Transaction Warehouse has now added the ability for payments on inactive accounts through all payment channels including Online Profile, Quick Pay, Automatic Payments, IVR phone payments and Reply-to-Pay text payments. This ability is at the Utility level, not at the account level which means that you can accept payments on inactive accounts as a whole or choose not to accept them at all. And now Quick Pay will honor this setting as well so if you are in fact a utility that does not want to allow payments on inactives, customers can no longer sneak around that rule using Quick Pay.
If you decide to allow payments on inactive accounts, but there are certain customers that you prefer to not have that option, then we suggest you utilize the Account Restrictions report, aka “Ban List”. Go to Reports > Account Restrictions and just enter the account number and click on All Access. This removes the ability for that customer to make any payments via the Online, Text or IVR systems. Additional information about the Ban List can be found in this whitepaper.
By default our system does NOT allow payments on inactive accounts. If you would like to allow payments on inactive accounts, please send us a support ticket to request that we make this change for you and we'll take care of it right away.
